Chances are whatever aspect of your life you want to improve, there's a self-help book (or twenty) out there ready and willing to help. I am constantly looking to improve my leadership skills, to learn more about effective virtual meetings and to master new cooking skills. I also like to throw in a little Stephen King, John Grisham and Robin Cook fiction. I know what you're thinking, Pam, who has time to read? I'm with you! That's why I love Audible.
When I was still driving to and from work with a 45-60 minute commute each way, I listened to books every day. Now that my commute consists of walking up 17 steps from the kitchen to my office, I've let the number of audio books I have creep way up.
I just saw this 2019 Audiobook Challenge from Hot Listens and Caffeinated Reviewer (love that name) and it has me thinking about all the times during the day I can add audio books back into my daily routine. Like in the morning when I'm piddling around on social media trying to wake up with 2-3 cups of coffee. In the afternoon when I'm letting the dogs burn off their energy outside and in place of my playlist while walking are ideal times too.
While Audible is an awesome source of books, I have their monthly plan where I pay $14.99/month for one credit and I can download any one book. I usually go for the pre-release purchase so I don't have to remember when my wishlist books will become available. If you're an Amazon Prime member, there are 1000s upon 1000s of books you can listen to for free.
Who's ready to take the 2019 Audiobook Challenge with me? Just click on the challenge box and sign up with me.
